DIY-CEREAL-TO-GO

I’m someone who enjoys cereal in the summer time.  It’s quick, crunchy, filling and the flavor combinations are endless!  But I always get annoyed that their isn’t an easy way to take your cereal on-the-go without having to carry an armful of bulky containers.  Well lemme blow yo’ mind… you can create your own cereal to-go container with just 2 materials: a mason jar + a plastic bag.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. Fill your mason jar with your (whole-grain) cereal of choice and any desired dry toppings (nuts, seeds, unsweetened dried fruit, etc.).
  2. Slip just one corner of your plastic bag into the mason jar, folding the rest of the bag over the sides of the mason jar.
  3. Slowly pour your milk (or milk-substitute) into the plastic bag.  (Be sure not to fill it ALL the way up.)
  4. Screw that top on tight and you’re ready to rock-and-roll!  (DON’T forget to pack a spoon.)

I also bring a banana along to make a complete, balanced breakfast meal.

What cereal concoctions do you plan on taking to-go?
