Happy holidays, friends!

‘Tis the season for lots of merry and jolly and… BAHUMBUG you get the point.  I realize that as much as we strive for those happy go-lucky feels this time of year, it’s also a stressful season for many reasons. 😩 So whether you’ve got the grumps because you’re over-scheduled and sleep deprived or just aren’t feeling Aunt Debbie Downer and food pushing ways this year, know that YOU are in control of how you react to these stressors and can try to minimize them to save your sanity.  Here are a few of my favorite tips from a Lunch & Learn I did recently!  Keep scrolling 🙂

You ready? OK…

Step 1. On a piece of paper, brain dump everything that’s stressing you out right now. 📝 (Even if it’s a hypothetical situation you’re worried about.) 

Step 2. Next to each item, note an action to take.  You want to try to “eliminate” “postpone” or “delegate” as much as possible! 

Step 3. Do the thangs!  Like with anything in life, if you want something to change, then you must be the change. 

OK, easier said than done, I know.  So here are some things to remember…

You’ve got to believe you can stress less this time of year.  PERCEPTION is the different between an ordeal and an adventure. 

Worrying about all the things will never change the things.  (Not even a little bit.) 

Don’t forget to check yourself now.  Things can still be magical even if they’re not the picture perfect plan you’ve laid out in your head.  Be realistic. 

And keep things in perspective.  Having all the things doesn’t = happiness.  How do you really want to feel when 12/31 rolls around? 

And be good to your body!  Even if that means sitting on the couch for an ungodly amount of time binge watching horribly good made-for-TV holiday movies.
