Let’s be honest… striving for a MyPlate meal is sometimes challenging.  (OK, a lot challenging.)  But when it comes to your morning oatmeal, there’s just 2 simple ingredients you need to include to make it balanced, filling fuel for your day:
1) a high-protein liquid vs. water AND
2) flavorful fruit

Sub in any 1 of the below liquids for the typical amount of water you use + add in fresh fruit, thawed unsweetened frozen fruit OR unsweetened dried fruit.  Top with your favorite spices, nuts and/or seeds and you’ve got a hot morning meal in a minute!


Soymilk + banana + cinnamon are a cold-weather stand-by for me.
