The 20 - 20 - 20 Rule

I recently got me ol’ peepers checked out and I while I have come to anticipate a natural decline in my vision overtime, I still refuse to accept it.  Up until my later college years I had the eyes of an eagle and I try to get by without my glasses or contacts as much possible in hopes that it will somehow “strengthen” my eyes, but I’m just kidding myself.  No matter, there is one thing I am supes guilty of that definitely isn’t helping my vision… sitting and staring at the computer for hours on end.  Horrible!  The sitting for hours on end is a whole other topic, but eyestrain caused by computers is totally preventable.  Practice the 20 – 20 – 20 Rule for healthier eyes: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.  This will give your eyes a much needed break so you can keep your concentration going until the job is done!

Shout out to Dr. Simmons with Lifetime Family Eyecare for this great tip to keep our eyes in tip top shape!
